GALVESTON - Mary Lenora Syers, 85, of Galveston, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 199-7, at Gulf Health Care Center in Galveston. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 1997, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Taylor officiating. Burial will follow services at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 8,1997, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home for-friends.

Ms. Syers was born on Sej* tember 23,1911, in Galveston. She was a housewife and a loving mother to all her children and many other children that were in her care. She was alifelong resident of Galveston and a member of the Lutheran faith. She is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel C. Syers and son James Ray Syers.

Survivors include son Manuel C. Syers Jr. and wife Rita of Galveston; son Richard D. Syers of Galveston; son Walter L Syers and wife Kathy of Galveston; son Jack A Syers and wife Pam of La Marque; son Herman Syers Sr. and wife Linda of Santa Fe; daughter Sylvia L. Gates of San Antonio; sister Marjorie Rac of Galveston; brother Raymond L. Elfstrom of Texas City; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Michelle Miller, Mark A Syers, Brook Syers, William A. Syers, Herman G. Syers Jr., Christopher G. Gates, and Luke Syers. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Parsley, Doug Parsley, and Trey Provis.
