Amon Gene Reynolds
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Ballard Chapel, Tuesday, March 28, for Amon Gene Reynolds, 73, who passed away March 24, 2000, at his residence. The Rev. Butch Neal, associate pastor of Bethel Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Mr. Reynolds was born Dec. 5, 1926, in Vinson, Okla., to Amon Lee Reynolds and Winnie Laura Shipp Reynolds. Both preceded him in death.
In Roswell, Feb. 14, 1997, he and Norma Savage were married.
She survives him in the family residence.
Mr. Reynolds had been employed by ICX and Consolidated Freight as a truck driver for 45 years. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Reynolds is survived by daughter and her husband, Deborah and Dennis Caldwell of Rocky Ford, Colo.; a daughter, Rhonda Diaz of Belen; brothers, Marion Reynolds of Tuttle, Okla., and Carl Reynolds of Oklahoma City; sisters, Joye Avery of Altus, Okla., and Ruth Losacco of Laguna Hills, Calif.; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be A.C. Golightly, Loyd Howeth, Robbie Scott, Kent Dougal, Charles Shannon, John Corbett, Gary Parson and Charles R. Wickersham.
Honorary pallbearers will be ICX employees, Deacons of Calvary Baptist Church and Herman Parson and Sterling Grant.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the JOY Club at the Calvary Baptist Church.
Arrangements are under the directions of the Ballard Funeral Home.
