Born in Comstock, Neb., he had been a resident of the Salem area since the 1930s.
He was preceded in death by one daughter.
Survivors include his wife, Helen of Salem; sons, Robert of Salem and Calvin of Sisters; brother, Edwin of Coupeville, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visiting will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Belcrest Mausoleum.
