Philanthropist and church woman. Distinguished lay worker in the Roman Catholic Church, she was bestowed the Cross Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice by Pope Pius XII and was also named Lady Elizabeth Bayer in the Equestrian Order of the Ladies of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem by the Vatican. She was involved in numerous Catholic charitable organizations as well as the Los Angeles Country Club and the California Club. She and her husband were married in the Old Plaza Church in Los Angeles in 1898. She once lived in a mansion at the corner of Foothill and Doheny Roads in Beverly Hills but moved after the death of her husband.
