Ruth graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1950. She has been a member of First Baptist Church for 71 years. Ruth worked all her life. Growing up, she worked in the ticket booth at the Bama Theater. After marrying, her husband asked if she would help him temporarily as he started up his company, McAbee Construction, Inc. For the next 53 years, they worked side by side every day to build a successful business in the Tuscaloosa community. At the time of her passing, she was Co-Founder and Secretary/Treasurer of McAbee Construction, Inc. Thank you to Cynthia, Georgia, Cyndi, Elizabeth, Audra, and everyone else at the office who has stood by Ruth while she was sick. You all meant the world to her. Ruth will be remembered by her family and friends for her kind heart, elegance, and sharp wit. She tried to help every stray or hurt animal she came across. She was active in numerous charities that helped the West Alabama community. She loved every employee at McAbee Construction. She loved her family even more.
