Harold Roy DeShazer entered into eternal rest peacefully in his sleep at his home in Commerce, OK on Thursday, July 3, 2014. He was 87.

He was born April 14, 1927 near Turley, OK to Frank and Jessie DeShazer.

They later moved to the Skiatook area where he lived into adulthood. He served in the United States Marines and was deployed to Korea for 13 months.

The family lived in the Owasso area for many years where he worked as a machinist and parts inspector. He was proud that he made parts for the first manned Spacecraft.

He married Ethel Broyles in 1958. They moved to the Commerce area in 1982.

He is survived by his wige Ethel of 56 years.

He is also survived by his children Peggy Hamilton, Susan Henderson and husband Mickey, John DeShazer and wife Michelle and Neil DeShazer, six grandchildren, Carol Hamilton, Ryan Hamilton and wife Kimberly, Steven DeShazer and wife Holly, Dillon and Jake Henderson and Dalton DeShazer and one great-grandchild Stacy LeAnne DeShazer. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. , Monday, July 7 at the First Baptist Church in Commerce with services to follow at 11:00 a.m.

Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami.
