He was preceded in death by his brother, Luther Abernethy and wife, Jean; sister, Virginia Edwards and husband, Lyle.
Frank was a veteran of the United States Navy, he served 2½ years in the South Pacific. He retired from Duke Power in 1983 with 47 years of service. He was a lifetime member of First Methodist Church in Lincolnton and was a member of the Men's Bible Class. He was a member of the Lion's Club and enjoyed travel with the Navy Reunion Group for 40 years.
Inurnment in Hollybrook Cemetery, Lincolnton.
