Kenneth Hannan Keenan, second son of Thomas James Keenan and Mabel Bell Barr, was born in Steubenville, Ohio, September 16, 1913. He was raised by Charles Roy Keys from age four when his mother remarried.He devoted his life to playing and teaching music, starting with playing in bands as a child, such as The Royal Steubens of Steubenville, Ohio. He married Margaret Lorraine Cadaret of Toledo April 5, 1936. He had one daughter by that marriage. He worked at Willys Overland in Toledo as a timekeeper and he led his own bands, composed his own music, and played and owned every instrument. He was a music teacher with the Penguin Music Store and taught music at a catholic school in Toledo,Ohio. He suffered from diabetes from age nine and died an untimely death at age forty six.
