Byron Allison, 59, of Bowling Green, Florida, passed away at his home on Friday, July 4, 2014. He was born in Wauchula, Florida, on December 25, 1954 and had been a lifelong resident of Hardee County. Byron was employed with Hardee County, Florida, as a mechanic, served in the United States Army, and was a member of Fort Green Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard J. Allison, and a brother, Carroll Allison. Survivors include his wife, Rita Allison of Bowling Green; mother, Geral Marie Allison of Bowling Green; two sons, Leonard Byron Allison II and wife Jeanette of Dade City, Florida, and Jonathon Clay Allison and wife Rose of Avon Park; four sisters, Waverly Horne and husband Jerry of Waycross, Georgia, Lawanna Richardson and husband Al of Wauchula, Charlene Anderson of Bowling Green, and Sandra Jackson and husband Paul of Okeechobee, Florida; and four grandchildren, Peyton Rollins, Bailey and Brooke Allison, and Isabella Kelly.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Bowling Green from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Steve McGaughey and Rev. Scott Tharp officiating.
