Anthon, Grace I.
MADISON - Grace I. Anthon, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at the HospiceCare Center, Fitchburg, surrounded by her family. She was born on April 15, 1921, in Leeds, to Rose (Dutcher) and Edward Ball. Grace married J Wayne Anthon on July 20. 1941. She was a lab technician at the University of Wisconsin, Russell Laboratory. Grace enjoyed entertaining, family gatherings, cooking, baking, playing cards, bingo, shopping, and going to her cottage. She always ended an evening with a hot card game. Grace loved her flowers, which her husband planted for her. She was an independent thinker, self-guided, and said it like it was. Grace was ahead of her time and was a liberated woman. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Grace is survived by her children, Renae Wilson, Karen Urzedowski, Debbie (John) Jones, and Gary Anthon; grandchildren, Mike Wilson, Shannon (Don) Swangstu, Brian and Sheryl Urzedowiski, Russ (Marcia) Jones, Nikki (Aaron) Macleod, John (Diane) Jones, Wayne (Stephanie) Brown, Don (Judylyn) Brown, and Sherri (Jeff) Peterson; great-grandchildren, Brandon Urzedowski, Justin Parker, Russell and Marc Jones, John ; Triggs, Amber and Conner Macleod, Hunter Jones, Kristina and Nicole Brown, Angie, Lisa and Junior Peterson, Miranda and Tanner Wilson, and Camren, Kyle and Kenzie Swangstu; and a son-in-law, Don Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, in 2003; a daughter, Rose Brown, in 2004; two granddaughters, Lisa Urzedowski and Julie Jones; and a son-in-law, Robert Wilson. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Four Winds and Hospice, for their attentive care.
