MANSFIELD: Craig R. Brown passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012, peacefully in his home following an extended illness.

Craig was born December 12, 1947 in Columbus, the son of Robert and Lee (Funk) Brown and was graduated from Newark High School in 1965. He was very successful in academics, especially mathematics, and received degrees in math and science from The Ohio State University in 1969. He subsequently taught math at The Ohio State University from 1969-1971 while working on his masters in Mathematics.

Completing Ashland Theological Seminary in 1974, Craig answered the Lord's call to minister. He pastored the Maurertown Brethren Church in Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, Silverhills Maryland Brethren Church, and Nimishillen Church of the Brethren in North Canton. Craig was also an ordained minister of the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church pastoring at East Springfield Church of the Cross, North Mentor United Methodist Church, and Melmore United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, whom he married February 10, 2001. He is also survived by his brother, three step-daughters, five grandchildren and extended family.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents.
