SHELBY-Ralph Lee Mellon, 76, died Fri., July 4, 2014, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Ruffus and Evelena Tessner Mellon. He retired from textiles and was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church in Kings Mountain.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ralph Mellon Jr.; daughter, Patricia Mellon; sisters, Margaret Tessner, Ruth Mellon and husband Willie, Faye Albea, and Dot Hunt.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Doris "Dot" Mellon, of the home; son, Rickey Mellon and wife Angela; sister, Veral Cash, all of Shelby; grandchildren, Lee Mellon and wife Rhonda of Columbia, SC, Kristie Ballew and husband Matt of Ellenboro; great-grandchildren, Dalton Tessener and Everleigh Ballew; and special friend, Benny Royster of Shelby.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 2p.m., Tuesday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home
