James A. Hammond, 64, of 3729 Prospect St., Truxton, died Monday. He was born in Cincinnatus. He retired from General Electric Co. in Syracuse after 40 years. He was a pitcher for Truxton's Hiawatha Inn softball team for many years. He was an Army veteran. Survivors: His wife of 42 years, the former Bonnie Price; his mother. Flora Hammond of Okeechobee, Fla.; a brother, Eugene of Beach Haven, N.J. Graveside services: 11 a.m. Fri- day in East Homer Cemetery.
