ISAAC RILEY PIERCE

SALEM--Isaac Riely Pierce 58, lifelong resident of Utah, died at his residence in Salem, Saturday morning.
He was born in Salt Lake City, September 4, 1883, a son of Isaac Riley and Mary J. McRae Pierce, and moved to Salem with his parent a few years later. He was educated in the Salem schools and Brigham Young University.
He filled a mission to the southern United States for the L. D. S. chruch during 1903 and 1904 and a short mission to the northern states in 1925. A high priest at the time of his death, he had served as Salem LDS Sunday school superintendent.
He married the former Flora Lerwill of Payson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, December 12, 1906. Mr Pierce was a farmer and service station operator.
Surviving are hes widow; two sons, Don C. Pierce of Salt Lake City, and Dale S. Pierce of South Gate, California; four daughters, Mrs. Edith Beddoes of Oakland, California, Mrs. Rhea Harphold of Taft, California, Mrs. Louise Allen of Ames, Iowa, and Mrs Virginia Keele of Salem; three brothers, Joseph White Pierce of Pendleton, Oregon; Isaac Thomas Pierce and Angus Franklin Pierce of Aberdeen, Idaho; three sisters, Mrs. Irene Killian and Mrs. Martha Christensen of Salem, Mrs. Margaret Engberg of Salt Lake City and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Salem LDS ward chapel by Bishop Elmer Sabin.
Friends may call at the family residence in Salem prior to services. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery under direction of the Deseret Mortuary of Payson.
