Charles E. Bell, 82, former Muncie resident, died Saturday night at the Veterans' Home in Dayton, Ohio, following an extended illness.
A native of Delaware County, he lived most of his life in Muncie. He was a veteran of the Army in World War I. He was formerly employed at Durant Manufacturing Co. and later was employed at the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Lafayette. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge 231 and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 651.
Surviving are a step-daughter, Mrs. John (Ethel) Shreves, 906 W. Main St., and a son, James K. of South Dakota.
Arrangements are pending at Meeks Mortuary.
