Antoine Adrien DuPuis was the son of Joseph Patrice Omér Dupuis and Julie Dupont, he was their 7th child. He was born at St Hermengilde, Quebec,Canada.

He enlisted in the Army 22 May 1917. He served in France under Gen. John J. Pershing in the battle at Marne. He was wounded at the Battle of the Marne, Soissons, France. Cited by Woodrow Wilson and Awarded a Purple Heart and Silver Star.
He was also honored by the King and Queen of Belgium and decorated by the French government.
Adrien married Elsa King on 7 August 1937 at Richmond, New York.
