Lory Sandburg Hocker,age 69, of Peoria, IL passed away at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, AL.
She was born on Oct. 9, 1944, in Chicago, IL. She grew up in Galesburg, IL and graduated from Galesburg High School. She later attended Bradley University.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin G. and Shirley (Woolam) Sandburg, and her husband, Richard L. Hocker. Survived by her three children, James Blackwell, and Amy (Mark) Berg, and Ian (Karen) Hocker, all of Peoria, IL; four grandchildren, Ryan and Dylan Berg, Terra Blackwell, and Gabriel Hocker; one great-grandchild, Serenity Fuget; one brother, Jeffrey (Jo Ellen) Sandburg of Palm Coast, FL; one niece, Jorie (Sandburg) Orsi; and one great-niece, Ella Orsi.
Lory was retired. Previously she was self-employed.
There will be a private family burial at Linwood Cemetery in Galesburg, Illinois at a later date.
