Paul E. Gain, 66, of Belleville, died Saturday, June 13, 1987, at his residence. He was a retired laborer with Illinois American Water Company in the Meter Division; member of St. Henry Catholic Church; Holy Name Society of the church, Swansea Improvement Association, and was a World War II Army Veteran. Preceding him in death were his parents, Benjamin and Frieda, nee Budde, Gain and a sister, Dorothy Braun.
Surviving are his wife Grace T. Nee Walter, Gain whom he married in Belleville on July 9, 1947, a daughter, Peggy (Darryl) O'Neill of Belleville, two sisters, Betty (Paul) Phillips and Arlene Bernier, both of Belleville; a brother-in-law, Paul Braun, Belleville three grandchildren, Jim, Steven, and Jeffrey O'Neill.
Funeral procession to leave at 10:10am Tuesday from the George Renner and sons Funeral Home in Belleville to St. Henry Catholic Church for a 10:30am funeral mass with Fr. Bernard Voss officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Gardens of Memory. Friends may call after 4pm Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Belleville Hospice. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7pm Monday at the George Renner Funeral Home.
