Ruthie Eunice (Ballew) Omberg

Mrs. Eunice Omberg, a long time Mertens resident, died October 3 in a Dallas hospital.

She was born September 27, 1903. Services were held Monday, October 5 at the Mertens Baptist Church with Billy Williams and Bill Smith. Interment was in Frost Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Arnold Honea, C.D. Ballew, Harold Ballew, R.D. Ballew, Don Rubenkoenig, and Dwayne Watson.

Survivors include four sons, N.J. Omberg of Corsicana, Warren G. Omberg of Fort Worth, Max K. Omberg of Fort Worth and Roger K. Omberg of Houston; one daughter Mrs. Joyce Hollingsworth of Hillsboro; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and several sisters and brothers.

Mrs. Eunice Ballew Omberg, 78, died early Saturday morning (October 3) in a Dallas hospital. She was born September 27, 1903 and had lived most of her life in the Emmett and Mertens area. Her husband, Archie A. Omberg, preceded her in death in 1966. Survivors include four sons, N.J. Omberg of Corsicana, Warren G. Omberg and Max K. Omberg both of Fort Worth, and Roger K. Omberg of Houston; one daughter, Joyce Hollingsworth of Hillsboro; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five brothers; and four sisters. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday (October 5) at Mertens. Burial was at Frost Cemetery.
