Midvale - Hyrum Beckstead Jr., 73, 235 E. 2nd Ave., Midvale, died Thursday 10:23 a.m. of a coronary occlusion. Born July 25, 1883, in West Jordan to Hyrum and Abiah Robbins Beckstead Sr. Married Edith Harrison Jan. 27, 1915, in Sandy. Later solemnized Salt Lake LDS Temple. Retired foreman for United States Smelting, Mining and Refining Co., Midvale. High priest in Midvale First LDS Ward and filled mission in Western States.
Survivors: widow; daughter, Mrs. Frank (Inez) Barrus, both Midvale; son, Lee H. U.S. Navy in Phillipines; two sisters, Mrs. Aline Smith, Mrs. Eva Morgan, both Salt Lake City; two brothers, Alex, Midvale; David, California; seven grandchildren.
