Obituary

Services for Fred Rickey, 75, Lindell Ave., Route 1, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the O'Donnell Funeral Home with the Rev.Stevs Lake in charge. Burial will be in White Bear Cemetery. Mr. Rickey died Saturday at a Hannibal hospital. He was born June 23, 1899 in Hannibal Mo. to Oscar and Julia Ann Oliver Rickey. He was first married to Lula Strorhoff in 1918 and she preceded him in death. He then married Bertie Caldwell and she survives. Other survivors include three sons. Russell Rickey, Hannibal,Mo., Marion Rickey, Rapids City,Ill. and Lesley Rickey, California: a step-son, James White, Medinah,Ill; three daughters, Mrs. Alleena Porter, Hamilton, Ill.;Mrs. Katherine Hegwood, Rapids City, Ill. and Mrs. Naomi Wilson, Garderi Prairie, Ill.; two brother, Tom Rickey and Chester Rickey, both of Hannibal; three sisters, Mrs. Gracie Bates, Mrs. Daisy Caldwell and Mrs. Hazel Martin, all of Hannibal; 33 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was a retired truck-driver. Visitation will be after 5p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Roy Inlow, Harold Charlton, Junior Watkins, Jim Moore, Earl Holman and Gene Rickey.
