PORTSMOUTH – Larry Cutchin Weldon, 71, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 after suffering a fall in his home 4 weeks ago. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Margaret Weldon; and a sister, Betty Ann Fowler.

Larry was a 1961 graduate of Cradock High School, where he was an outstanding football, basketball and baseball player; and played football while attending the University of South Carolina. He returned to the Hampton Roads area and taught school for a few years and then went into sales. Without a doubt, you can say that Larry lived life to the fullest!!

He is survived by two sisters, Debi Weldon Conner of Reddick, FL and Peggy Weldon Batz of Nashville, Tenn.; three nieces, Lisa Fowler Giershner, Kim Fowler and Deborah Batz; a nephew, Noah Batz; and a host of extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel by Dr. Hal Hostetler. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 – 8 PM.
