Funeral for Vella B. Funk, 84, a former Garden City resident was to be 2 p.m. today at Powell-Kuhns Mortuary, Las Animas, Colorado, with Lawrence Mitchell officiating.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City, with the Rev. Gary Don Newman officiating.
Mrs. Funk, of Las Animas, died Wednesday, February 25, 1998, at Bent County Memorial Nursing Home.
Born April 25, 1913, at Protection, Kansas, she was the second child of Elmer and Mabel (Miller) White.
She was a member of Church of Christ and Royal Neighbors.
On April 20, 1935, she married Woodrow Peters. They had one son. She later married Sid Cornelius, who preceded her in death on June 3, 1959. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Glenn White.
On January 2, 1960, she married Kenneth Funk. He survives.
Other survivors are a son, Robert Peters, Denver, Colorado, five step-daughters, Ardith Forbes, Willows, California, Hazel Miller, Las Animas, Colorado, Joyce Cook, Monroe City, Indiana, Shirley Flowers and Connie Herndon, both of Garden City, Kansas; and a step-son, Robert Funk, Garden City, Kansas.
