ACKLEY—Laureen Bausman, 79, and Lee Bausman, 87, of Ackley, died on Friday, January 20, 2006, due to injuries sustained in a car accident.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 24, at the St. John's United Church of Christ in Ackley, with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery, Ackley. Military rites were provided by the Elliott-Keninger Post No. 252 of Ackley. The Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley was in charge of the arrangements. A memorial fund has been established.

Lee was born on August 28, 1918 in Klemme, the son of Charles and Ann (Wessels) Bausman. He graduated in 1937 and was in the U.S. Air Force from 1942 to 1945. He was united in marriage to Laureen Finger on January 6, 1946, at the Immanuel Memorial United Church of Christ in Alden. He had farmed all of his life. He was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ, where he has served two terms on the church council, Ackley-Geneva Lions Club, Iowa Falls Order of Moose Lodge No. 1331, Elliott-Keninger Post No. 252 of Ackley, and card clubs.

Laureen was born on March 31, 1926 in Ackley, the daughter of Dick and Clara (Lohse) Finger. She graduated from the Williams High School and was united in marriage to Lee Bausman on January 6, 1946, at the Immanuel Memorial United Church of Christ in Alden. She was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Ackley, Sunshine Circle, Willing Workers, Ackley Women's Club and card clubs.

Lee and Laureen are survived by their family, Linda and husband, Dawson Miller of Indianola, Dennis and wife, Jennifer Bausman of Seneca, South Carolina and Sharon and husband, James Arends of Willow Spring, North Carolina; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents.

Laureen was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ruth Johnson; and a sister in infancy.
