Shirley A. McAlexander June 9, 1937 - June 29, 2014 MISHAWAKA - Shirley A McAlexander, 77, of Prairie Street, Mishawaka, passed away at Cardinal Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend on Sunday, June 29th. She was born on June 9th, 1937 in Mishawaka to Roy and Thelma (Lameer) Chandonia, who preceded her in death. On December 26th, 1952, she married Freeman McAlexander Jr. who also preceded her in death. She was the Manager of the White House Restaurant, also known as "Shirley's Place" . She is survived by her children: David (Jane) McAlexander, Michael (Tammy) McAlexander, both of Mishawaka, Freeman McAlexander II of Osceola and Sue Stallter of Jasper, Alabama. She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy McAlexander. One sister survives, Sandy (Merv) Shankel of Illinois, and three sisters are deceased: Maxine Applebee, Betty Michaels and Nona Nickerson. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday at Bubb Funeral Chapel, where friends will be received two hours prior to the services. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
