George E. Abel, 84, born June 30, 1929, in Pueblo, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2014. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna; son, Tim Abel; daughter, Sandra (Mark) Canfield; granddaughter, Tiffani (Will) Holubek; great-grandson, Joey Holubek and another on the way. Also survived by siblings, Barbara Martin and William (Jo Ann) Abel; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Beatrice Abel; and brothers, Homer and James. George was Past Exalted Ruler and life member of B.P.O. Elks No. 90, member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, longtime member and volunteer at the Pueblo County Historical Society, and a member of Beulah United Methodist Church for 58 years. He enjoyed building trailers, camping, hunting, fishing and walking his dogs. Viewing from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, in the Montgomery & Steward Chapel with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m. Service, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Beulah United Methodist Church. Interment, Beulah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beulah United Methodist Church, 5903 Pennsylvania Ave., Beulah, CO 81023. Online condolences, www.MontgomerySteward.com.
