Manford Morgan, 72, of Rt. 1, Spring Valley, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday in St. Margaret's hospital shortly after being admitted.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Hurst Funeral home in Ladd, the Rev. Carl Richardson of St. John's Lutheran church on the hill officiating. Burial will be in Peru City cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Hurst Funeral home in Ladd.
Mr. Morgan was born De. 29, 1898, in Allerton, Iowa, son of Calvin and Laura Baer Morgan. He farmed in the Ladd area most of his life. He married the former Minnie Pinter June 10, 1920.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. George (Jean) Thompson of Prophetstown and Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Pierson of Ladd; a son, Perry at home; three granddaughters; a sister Birdie Harris of Cleveland; two brothers, Elmer Morgan of Youngstown, Ariz. and Abe of Sumava, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
