Virginia L. Beatty Virginia Lucille Beatty, known to friends as "Jinx," died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at Jefferson City, Tenn. Funeral service was held Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 8 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home with the Rev. Walt Simmerman officiating. Interment was Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m. at Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Elk Creek. She was born June 26, 1909, in Elk Creek, daughter of the late Eli Scott and Eva M. Hale. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. "Bill" Beatty; four siblings, Richard Scott Hale, Rachel Booher, Thornton "Tony" Horne and Martha Fields; and a grandchild, Anthony Savage. Survivors include three children, Martha Evans, Jessica Treece and Charles Scott Ryan Beatty; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
