CHAPIN - Ronald Erick Hansen Sr., 71, of Chapin died Thursday, June 24, 2004, at his home. Private funeral services will be held with burial in the Union Cemetery in Iowa Falls. Ronald was born May 29, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., to Gaylord and Vera (Crosser) Hansen. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-54. On Jan. 1, 1955, Ronald was united in marriage to Marie Heuer at Nashua. He had been employed by Eaton's in Belmond as a machinist. Ronald enjoyed fishing, tinkering with small engines, woodworking and gardening.
Survivors include three sons, Ronald Jr. and wife Janice of Sheffield, Steven and wife Becky of Casper, Wyo., and LaMont of Hampton; four grandchildren; a sister, Gladys Olson of Iowa Falls; two nephews; and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and one sister. Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is in charge of arrangements.
