Rachel Elaine Parrott, of Skaneateles, NY, died on Monday, June 23, 2014, after a short illness, surrounded by her family.
She was born June 6, 1940, in Shawnee, OK to Glenn Parrott and Olivebel Hinchey Parrott.
She enjoyed traveling, visiting family, reading, needlework, movies, and her grandchildren.
She graduated from Oklahoma State University and received a master's degree from the University of Oklahoma.
She is survived by her son, Nofle Aubrey "Trey" McClanahan, III and wife Heather, of Skaneateles, NY; daughter, Glenda McClanahan Hernandez and husband Mario, of Idaho Falls, ID; her granddaughter, Crystal Hernandez Zmak and husband Travis of Idaho Falls, ID; grandson, Anthony Hernandez, of Coeur d'Alene, ID; grandson, Connor Hernandez, of Idaho Falls, ID; grandsons, Justin and Marcus McClanahan, of Skaneateles; and great-grandson, Hunter Zmak, of Idaho Falls, ID. She is also survived by one sister, Olive Ann Parrott Curl, of Jackson, TN; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael McClanahan; and one sister, Martha Parrott. There will be a Memorial Service on August 9, 2014, at First United Methodist Church, Chandler, OK, with burial in Oak Park Cemetery, Chandler.
