Arnold H. Decker, 1211 Nevada Street, and lifetime resident of Whatcom County, passed away Monday, Dec 10 after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 10, 1912 in Ferndale, WA.
He was a rural mail carrier for 32 years retiring in 1972. In his younger years he was very active in the Rural Letter Carriers Association and held the offices of Washington State Secretary and State President.
He was a former member of Bellingham Bay Lodge #44 F&AM and of Bellingham Elks Club #194; was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife Juanita of the family home; a daughter Arnita Sams of Bellingham; 2 sons Allen of Alaska and Stephen of Ariel, WA; 2 sisters, Leona Anderson of Bellingham, and Helene Peck of Marysville; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. At his request, there will be no services. Cremation. Burial will be in the family plot in Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements by Jones-Moles Funeral Home.
