He was born on October 8, 1914, in Milwaukee, Wis. Leonard lived in the Milwaukee area for 20 years until the 1930s when he moved to the Madison area. He married Anna O. Kriel on June 6, 1936, in Rockford, ILL, they recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.
Leonard worked for Oscar Mayer Foods in the power plant for 36 years, retiring in 1976. He was a past member of the Eagles Club and the Moose Club. Leonard loved camping, fishing and bowling.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends including his wife, Anna Cass of Monona; his sons, Raymond (Mary Jane) Cass of Westfield, Wis., and William (Lucille) Cass of Dane, Wis.; his grandchildren, Debra Skinner of Dane, Tina Squire of Verona, Laurie Bollig of Mazomanie and Nanette (Don) Gray of Madison; seven great-grandchildren; and by his sisters, Betty Triggs of Rio and Dorothy Betz of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, George, Laurence, Arthur, Edward and Walter and by two sisters, Leona and Margie.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Gunderson East Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Dr. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.
