William Wilson Perkins Sr., 76, a resident of Avenue B, Waveland, was pronounced dead at 8:25 am Tuesday on arrival at Hancock General Hospital in Bay St. Louis.
A resident of Waveland for about six years, he resided in Hattiesburg prior to moving to the Coast.
He was born May 26, 1895, the son of John Perkins and Mary Rosella Rester Perkins in the Standard Community in Hancock County.
Mr. Wilson was a retired boilermaker for Hercules. He was a Baptist, a member of the Petal Harvy Missionary Baptist Church at Petal.
Mr. Perkins is survived by one son, William Wilson Perkins Jr. of Pearlington, five daughters, Mrs. T.H. (Doris) Simmons of Waveland, Mrs. James C. (Jean) Newell and Mrs. Charles (Etta) LeDoux of Kenner La.; Mrs. Darrell (Dorothy) Schafer of Rossville, Ga; and Mrs. Johnny (Linda) Mobley of Fort Meyers, Fla; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; six brothers, Johhny Perkins of Hattiesburg, Rayford Perkins of Lumberton, Dan Perkins of Lyman, Luther Perkins and Joseph Perkins of Clermont Harbor, Francis Perkins of the Kiln; three sisters; Mrs. Alice Martin of Pass Christian, Mrs. Martha Jane Ferrill of Gulfport, and Mrs. Mandy Cuevas of Standard.
Friends may call at Riemann Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis after 5 o'clock this evening.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the funeral chapel with the Rev. Perry Neal, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bay St. Louis officiating. Interment will be in Rester (Wolf Creek) Cemetery.
