Thompson - John E. Mahon, Jr., 51 of Seastrand Rd.,died Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in his home. He was the husband of Johanne (Grenier) Mahon. Born in Putnam, he was the son of Lillian (Mailloux) Mahon and the late John E. Mahon, Sr.

Mr. Mahon worked as the Zoning Enforcement Officer for the Town of Thompson. He was a Justice of the Peace for Windham County.

He enjoyed yard work, watching boxing and on-line games. He was an avid Beatles fan, especially enjoying Paul McCartney. He will be missed by his German Shepherd dog "Ritz". John was a loving son who cherished his mother and taking care of her.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his sons, John E. Mahon III of N. Grosvenordale; and Jordan P. Mahon of N. Grosvenordale; and his brother Phillip Mahon of Grosvenordale.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with John's family from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, June 27, 2014 in the Valade Funeral Home, 20 Main St., N. Grosvenordale. A gathering will begin in the funeral home on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 10:00 am in the funeral home, followed by a graveside in St. Joseph Cemetery.
