Johann came to America in 1883 with his brother, CASPER.

John was a farmer while in Iowa when he first came to America. He and his wife Anna retired in Daykin, Nebraska.

Johann changed his name from NIEDERKLEINE to KLEINE. His brother, CASPER, retained the name of NIEDERKLEINE.

John Henry Kleine and Anna Marie came to America in 1883, settling near Burlington, Iowa. Their children, August, Bill, Fred, Louise, and Anna came with them. Another son, Henry, had come over earlier. soon after arriving in America, John Henry dropped the "Nieder" and became "Kleine" as did his sons and daughters. They came to the Daykin area around 1903. They lived on a farm 3 miles west, 1 north and 1/2 west of Daykin. Anna died in 1917 and John Henry died in 1923. They are buried in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery by Daykin, Nebraska.
Four of the six children came to the Daykin area; August, Henry, Bill, and Anna. Louise and Fred stayed in Iowa. Anna married John Strothman.
