He was born Feb. 23, 1920, in Millville, Utah, son of Niels H. and Annie Mae Hulse Monson.
He married Norma Lillian Kendrick on June 25, 1941, in the Logan LDS Temple.
He was a cattle rancher and dry farmer most of his life.
He was a member of the LDS Church.
He was a member of the South Cache Livestock Association Board, Millville Irrigation Co. Board, Garr Spring Water Board and the Millville Town Council.
In 1974 George was chosen as Farmer of the Year by the Blacksmith Fork Soil and Water Conservation District.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Monson, Millville; two sons and three daughters, Larry Monson, Millville; Colleen and Lanny Ballard, Benson; Cordell and Lindsay Monson, Millville; Maydene and Michael Smith, Millville; Julie and Gale Hall, Millville, 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Leone Anderson, Millville.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Anderson, Phyllis Crookston, and Fern Bullock.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at noon in the Millville 3rd Ward Chapel with Bishop Robert Humphreys conducting.
A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary and at the church on Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Interment will be in the Millville City Cemetery.
