Owner of the McCreevy General Store in Missouri

His horse drawn covered meat and/or delivery wagon was used as the town's funeral coach as well. My photo of the storefront on the day of a funeral shows the wagon in front of the store. Family and townspeople are lined up on the storefront's walkway. (note: Mar 11, 2024 photo is packed away)

(April 24, 1910 census confirms family history born Ireland)

Mary's mother's name was Buchenour with many relatives in England.

James and Mary immigrated to America by boat and were married in 1858 in America.

When Annie was 'around' age 12 or younger Jesse James slept in her parents barn. She went out there to peek. (In 1881 Governor Thomas T. Crittenden issued a proclamation for the arrest of Frank and Jesse James. By 1882 Jesse James had moved his family back to St. Joseph, Missouri. On April 3, 1882, Robert Ford shot and killed Jesse James.) Union Pacific Railroad was started in 1865, St. Joseph was the westernmost point in the United States accessible by rail.

On August 22, 1888 in St. Louis, Missouri, was the loving union of William Cyltor Johnson and Annie Praxedes McCreevy in St. Louis, Missouri. Through this union they brought into this world 9 children with one being adopted. William's occupation was real estate which provided well for the family.

To her family she was completely devoted. As a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all, this love was reciprocated. In 1889 a precious daughter Annie "Laura" Johnson, was born (my grandma). They were very close. In 1923, her daughter Laura's husband Henry Simpson (my grandpa) passed away from injuries due to a horrific not his fault car/train accident on Thanksgiving Day in Hope, Arkansas, he was only 37. She was there to help raise Henry and Laura's children, her eight grandchildren in Hope, with the eighth baby having been born posthumously five months later.

With her eyesight failing and then later going blind she still did her best as a grandmother and mother. She was an angel on earth. She was an amazingly strong woman with her faith and family support. Again, she did her best when her daughter Laura suddenly passed away in 1938. They were very close and this was tragic and devastating to her and the entire family.

My dad (Herb Simpson) dearly loved his (he called her granma) granma Annie and was so grateful to her for everything she had ever done for him and his siblings and his mama throughout their lives. When I was a young girl, I found a cropped photo of her face as an elderly woman wearing a lovely hat. I fell in love with that photo, like their was some kind of a connection. My dad allowed me to carry it with me. My mom later told me a story about when I was a baby, in which our family took a train vacation from Washington State to Arkansas State. It was a bumpy rough ride and no sleeping spaces. Mom said, since granma Annie was blind, she felt the babies heads and faces to try and tell who we were like in our family.

She was in her 90's when she passed away. She was staying with her daughters in Tampa, Florida. There was a terrible full out family disagreement to put it mildly, as to where her burial and what her religious service would be. There was a Catholic memorial service in Florida by her daughters. She was then shipped by train from Florida back to Hope, Hempstead County, Arkansas. The second service was Methodist and then the burial took place in Hope, at Rosehill Cemetery of which many attended. My father (Herb Simpson) was stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington at the time and was able to catch a hop out of McChord AFB to go to his granma's Funeral.

9aa. Don's 2nd wife Donna Buchanan No Children. Don was a devoted husband and a loving dad to her children until his passing. He is loved and dearly missed everyday.

It will take some time to sort through and make the entries.

There were three preparers of different genealogy documents for this family where there are some erroneous entries, even having my mom married to one of my dad's family members.

I am one of the few, if the only one who knows about this. Don had copies of these documents sent to my dad. My dad (Herb) was just getting started on the corrections and he had to stop his research.
