Dorothy lost her battle to breast cancer surrounded by loving family on May 3, 1992. She was preceeded in death by her loving husband Charles K. Harp and their son Michael Lee Harp. Dorothy is fondly remembered and survived by her daughter Leslie Kingery(Johnson), sons Douglas Johnson(with his wife Phylis) and David Harp(with his wife Diane); her grandchildren Leslie Anderson, Donna Johnson, George Kingery III, Rachel, Sharon, Aimee Harp, and Michael J. Harp, her great-grandchildren Jennifer Perdue and Larry Perdue III (as well as great-granchildren Aidan Anderson and Brittany Kingery, born after her passing)
