HELEN E. CHAMPION, 66, of Delmont, died Tuesday morning in South Jersey Hospital
System, Millville Division. Born in Belleplain, she was a Vineland resident for
five years before moving to Delmont 15 years ago. Mrs. Champion was a charter
member of the Evangelistic Tabernacle Church in Belleplain, where she was a
Sunday School teacher, pianist and board member. She attended the Estero United
Methodist Church when wintering in Florida, where she also taught Sunday school
and was the pianist. She was a former receptionist for her son-in-law, Dr.
Joseph Jones of Millville. Surviving are her husband, Oliver B.; two daughters,
June H. Jones of Millville and Sharon C. Kruck of Tuckahoe; two sisters, Elena
Champion and Louisa Fleming, both of Belleplain; seven grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren. Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday in the Evangelistic
Tabernacle Church in Belleplain. Burial, under the direction of the Robert V.
Hoffman Funeral Home, will be in Head of the River Cemetery in Estell Manor.
