Catherine (Bonnett) Peterson Atkins was a daughter of Samuel and Martha (Radcliff) Bonnett and was twice married. Her first husband was Jacob Waggoner (1810-1848), by whom she had three small daughters per early census records. The only one known to survive was Martha O. Waggoner, wife of Jasper Peterson. Her second marriage was to Richard W. (*)Alkins aka Atkins on 7 Aug 1849 in Lewis County, (West) Virginia.
1860 Census: Catharine Atkins (48) and Richard M Atkins (42): with children: Martha O Waggoner (22),
William H Atkins (18), John G Atkins (15) and
Samuel M Atkins (5),
She was (**)buried between her husbands in the Laurel Lick cemetery, located on land once owned by Jacob Waggoner. Ref. HCPD Journal Vol II, issue 3-4, pgs. 170-171.
