Wayne C. Dempze, 69, Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Saint Joseph Hospital, Marshfield, WI in the Palliative Care Unit.
Funeral Services are 11:00 am Monday, June 30, 2014 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids. Reverend James Altman will officiate. Visitation will be at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids from 4:00-6:00 pm Sunday and Monday at the church from 10:00-11:00 am. There will be a parish rosary at 6:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Good Shepherd Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids.
Wayne was born November 12, 1944 in Wisconsin Rapids to Gordon and Iris (Ayres) Dempze. He married Jeanne E. Kempfert on May 29, 1965 in Wisconsin Rapids. Wayne was employed as an electrician at Consolidated Papers, Inc. for 35 years retiring in 1999 as Supervisor of the Investment Recovery Department. Wayne also co-owned and operated Wayne Dempze Cranberry Company.
He was a member of and served as President of the River Valley Flyers, a member of the Creepers Car Club and also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1558 of Wisconsin Rapids. Wayne was a street rod enthusiast and enjoyed restoring old cars. He always loved time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Wayne is survived by his wife, four children, six grandchildren, one brother, one sister, his mother-in-law and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim; niece, Jessica Dupuis; father-in-law, Harvey Kempfert; and brother-in-law, David Kempfert.
