OBITUARY
Leonard D Lohrke Jr.,79, of Albion, Mi., died Thursday, January 9, 2003 at Oaklawn Hospital Marshall, Mi. He was born August 7, 1923, in Albion, Mi, the son of Leonard D and Gertrude E {Bayn] Lohrke.
He married Hope Newton on October 24,1942, in Kentucky, she survives. He served in the Navy during WW II from 1942-1944. He was a member of the VFW, Albion Legion and St Paul's Lutheran Church.
He was employed by American Transit out of Chicago and later worked for Air Co. of Albion, Mi as a truck driver. He enjoyed bowling, trap shooting, gold, hunting, fishing, and reading.
He wintered in California for several years.
He is also survived by sons, Leonard D [Elaine[ Lohrke III of Homer, Lee R "Joe" Lohrke of Albion, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Benden and uncle and aunts, Otis & Elizabeth Hull, Claire & Marion Sanford and Gerald Lohrke.
Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Albion, Michigan*
