Ralph Smith Atkins, 95, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, June 26, 2014, at his home. Born January 25, 1919, in Gramling, SC, he was the son of the late Ivo and Exie Smith Atkins.

A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Atkins retired as owner and operator of Ralph Atkins Alignment Service, as well as, Ralph Atkins Farm Machinery. He was a member of Davis Memorial Baptist Church and a former member of Beaumont Baptist Church.

Surviving is his wife of seven years, Carolyn Reynolds Atkins; son, Terry Dean Atkins (Sharon) of Boiling Springs, SC; grandchildren, Kyle Atkins (Lindzie) and Emily Atkins; and sisters, Virgie Blackwell and Josephine Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Lillian Casey Atkins; brothers, Harell Atkins and Marvin Atkins; and sisters, Lucille Higgins, Mildred Duncan, and Cybil Thomas.

Visitation will be 11:00-11:45 AM Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. John Cox and the Rev. Steven A. McLain. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agape Hospice, 1060 Boiling Springs Road Suite 1, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
