Survived by his mother, Mrs. Annie Starkey, at the home; one sister, Mrs. Gladys Toms, San Francisco, California.

Funeral services 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, from the Chapel of Chimes, Thornhill-Geraghty Funeral Home, N1322 Monroe, Rev. William Tatum officiating. Interment Fairmount Memorial Park.

George H. Starkey, 43, W720 Buckeye, died of an apparently self-inflicted bullet wound in his home Friday, police said.

Detectives said the body was discovered in the front room of his home by a neighbor. The coroner's office said he was shot in the chest by a .22 caliber revolver. Final determination of the death was not made pending further investigation by the coroner's office. Police said it appeared to be a suicide.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Annie M. Starkey, Spokane, and a sister, Mrs. Gladys Tom, San Francisco.

The body was taken to Thornhill-Geraghty Funeral Home.
