Adam Kagler Dies

Adam J. Kagler, father of Chief of Police Harry Kagler. died at the family home, in Wayne Street, this evening at 9:30 o'clock following a lingering illness, due to general debility. The deceased was aged about seventy five years.

Born in Germany, Mr. Karler emmigrated to America and settled In Wayne county. He later came to Carbondale, where he had resided during the last fifty years. For twenty years he was employed on the Erie railroad and during the last fifteen years was s city employee, being connected with the department of streets.

He Is survived by his widow, one son. Harry, and one daughter. Mrs. Harry McMullen: also by the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Margaret Saunders, Mrs. William Wagner, both of this city: Mr John Ball, of Jermyn; Mrs. William Watts, of Waymart, W. S. Kagler. of Waymart and Stephen Kagler of Maplewood.
