She joined the Cadet Nurse Corps at the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Houston in January 1945. Students received room, board, books, tuition, uniforms, and $25 per month. They were obligated to remain single, or else must resign from the school.
Married Archie Bridge Ammons on 14 Dec 1947 in Houston.
Received RN Degree from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, and Assoc. of Arts degree from Univ. of Houston in Apr 1948.
Retired from nursing in November 1989.
