Billy Glen Crump, age 71, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on June 23, 2014. He was surrounded by his loving family and was joyously greeted on the other side by waiting loved ones. Cancer won.

He was born January 1, 1943 in Bingham Canyon, Utah, followed minutes later by his twin, Bobby. He spent most of his life in "Historic Sandy." He attended Jordan High and was a Beetdigger to the end. He loved his country and served in the Army Reserve for six years.

He married Pauline Carlson on June 16, 1964 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

He spent many years at Kennecott Copper as truck driver and shovel operator. He retired from Jordan School District, spending most of those years at Altara Elementary.

He was a High Priest and lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He faithfully served in bishoprics and held many Church leadership positions. He served an inner city service mission in Salt Lake City with his wife.

He spent his retirement in St. George, where he loved 4 wheeling, fishing, rocks, Lake Powell, traveling, and all kinds of music.

Preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Dorothy Crump; twin sisters, Betty and Bonnie; and brothers, Larry and Blaine. He is survived by his wife, Pauline of St. George; his son, Steven (Nora) Crump of Salt Lake City; his daughter, Shannon Western of St. George; his daughter, Samantha (Jared) Williams of Sandy; and six adored grandchildren, Christian and Stephanie Crump, Taylor (fiancé, Shalee, and children, Travis and Riley) and Brandan Western, and Parker and Payten Williams. He is also survived by his brothers, Garry (Karen) Crump of St. George and Bob (Rosemary) Crump of West Jordan; brother-in-law, Jerry (Patty Carlson) of Price; and sister-in-law, Glenda (Gene) Ciarus of Moab and Alan Western of Big Water; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held in the Sunset Stake Center, 82 North Dixie Drive, St. George, on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. A viewing will also be held in the Mount Jordan First Ward Chapel, 8950 South 400 East, Sandy, on Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel.
Interment will follow in the Herriman City Cemetery, 12465 South Pioneer Street (6000 West), Herriman.
