Oakley Lee Dalton, 74, of Rt. 1, Tunnel Hill, died Friday, Sept 9, 1977, at home. Mr. Dalton was retired from the Penn Central Railroad. He was born Oct. 9, 1902, in Johnson County to Isaac and Amelia Nelson Dalton. He married Mable Cook in Johnson County in 1911 [should be 11 Jul 1930 not 1911 in which is when she was born]. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Shirley Mae Burnett of Gary, Ind., Brenda Davis of Carterville; four sons, Oakley Lee Jr., Donald, Wayne, and Jackie, all of Tunnel Hill, and James Issac of Pittsburg; two brothers, Thomas of Tunnel Hill and Robert of Creal Springs; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two infant children, five brothers, and one sister. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday [12 Set. 1977] at the Mt. Hhitnel Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial will be in the Reynoldsburg Cemetery north of Vienna. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
