Harry Tilford Amundson, son of Henry & Tilda (Loftsgard) Amundson was born June 24, 1914 in Marion Township, Clayton County, near Elgin. He died Wednesday Feb 11, 1998 in the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah. He was baptized at the East Clermont Lutheran Church and confirmed there March 26, 1929 by the Rev. Gustav Gunsten.
August 14, 1940 he married Myrthe Bilden in the West Clermont Lutheran Church by the Rev. Eling Ramsey. They had three children, Jean Rosalee, Paul Vincent & Harold Edward. He loved farming and it became his lifelong occupation. Harry's favorite past time included his love for his grandchildren, riding horses, hunting and many Sunday afternoon drives and picnics spent with his family. He was a member of the West Clermont Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle, a daughter, Jean (Robert) Larson of Elgin, 2 sons, Paul (Cathy) Amundson of North Canton, Ohio and Harold Amundson, Clermont, Iowa, two grandsons, 9 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter-in-law Janice Amundson; a sister Alvira Baker and 3 grandsons.
