RONALD EUGENE BOKELMAN
August 9, 1939 - June 22, 2014

Ronald Eugene Bokelman, 74, of Clarksburg, passed away June 22, 2014, after a brief illness at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born Aug. 9, 1939, in Anderson, the son of Adolph & Lois Barnes Bokelman. Ron was a 1957 graduate of Burney High School and was a United States Army Veteran.

On July 26, 1963, he married Helen Jean Hite at the First Presbyterian Church in Columbus.

Ron retired from Delta Faucet after 29 years working in tool and die. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, playing cards, and hosting friends and family in the Bokelman Hospitality Room. He was a member of the Springhill Presbyterian Church, Greensburg Jaycees, volunteer for the Clarksburg Fire Department and was a golf partner for the Decatur County Special Olympics.

Survivors include his wife Helen Jean Bokelman, daughters Carole (Mike) Dierckman, son Steve (Sally) Bokelman, grandchildren: Dustin and Katelyn Bokelman, sisters Clara (Ed) Bewley, Shirley (Larry) Meyer, Deb Mart, brothers Jim Bokelman, Ed (Judy) Bokelman, John (Alice) Bokelman, brother-in-law Glen Wilson, and cousin Rita Hellmich.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jane Wilson, infant brother Robert Bokelman, and sister-in-law Patricia Bokelman.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25 at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at the funeral home; Rev. Shannon Burford will be officiating.

Burial will follow at the Springhill Presbyterian Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion and VFW.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department, Decatur County Special Olympics, or to the Springhill Presbyterian Church.
